Frontier Bank’s Chief Financial Officer Featured in American Banker
(PARK CITY, UT.--August 15, 2008)
Haddon Libby, Chief Financial Officer of Park-City based-Frontier Bank was prominently featured in today’s American Banker, the banking industry’s top publication. Libby was quoted in a feature story on the rapidly expanding teen credit card market and why it makes sense for both banks and teens.
Despite the current credit crunch, the teen market continues to grow. According to American Banker, almost 30% of all teens between eighteen and nineteen are credit card users.
Frontier Bank issues the Visa Buxx prepaid debit card to teens with their parent’s as co-signers. “We market the card to parents and then bring students into the branches to educate them on the importance of savings. These visits are often a child’s first significant introduction to a financial institution. Most who visit, then choose to open a savings account or get a Visa Buxx Card,” observes Libby. Brand loyalty builds as these teens reach eighteen and open up their own personal checking accounts with Frontier Bank as they gain financial freedom.
Frontier Bank has become one of Park City’s premier locally owned and operated banks. What’s more, the impressive banking expertise provided by Frontier’s board of directors has been instrumental in forming this outstanding community bank. Frontier Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Western Community Bancshares, Inc., which has over $300 million in assets, with operations in California and Utah. The bank specializes in providing a broad array of financial services to local businesses and consumers. |
